I wouldn't panic yet, most of what you are seeing is probably swelling. If you still feel like this after a couple of weeks then get in touch with your consultant.

Hi there,
I had rhinoplasty at the hospital group yesterday and have left looking like jacko. I asked for the tip to be 'slightly' refined and turned up but I look like somthing from a horror movie and the bit between my nostrils is slanted up too instead of tapering downwards as it should. Is this normal a day after surgery or is it likely to stay like this? I'm horrified and scared to even look in the mirror. Also, the distance between my nose and top lip is now way too long!

RE: Face lift

Hi,

I used Dr Le Roux Fourie, Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon. He practises privately at BUPA Methley Park Hospital, Methley.
I had my facelift with him two years ago and he is excellent! I also had my upper and lower blephs done by him at the same time. He is fully BAPS/BAAPS qualified.

There is one surgeon there who I would NOT recommend in Newcastle! I cannot name him on this board.

RE: Dental implants

I have had 4 teeth removed during the last 10 years because of various problems. My dentist has said that I must have implants or a denture or my other teeth below will grow more?! Not sure if this will happen or not but I am interested in the implants. Dentures look really uncomfortable, kinda like wearing a brace thing. The only thing is I think the implants are about 1500 each
I'm not sure if getting them done abroad may be cheaper as it is a lot of money to 'find' just for teeth! I do cope ok with my teeth at the moment and have not noticed my other teeth 'growing'.
Am I being spun a line by my dentist?

RE: Good hair remover?

Found out you can get epicare for 9.95 directly from their website. I bought 3 Epicare and I must say it's the best hair removal method ever invented. All it does is simply grab the unwanted hair and pull them out by the roots. Very clean & very convenient. No mess to clean up later. It's a metal coil with two plastic ends. you bend the coil into a horse shoe shape and twist away against the grain of the hair. With the packaging there is some useful tips.I think it's excellent because it's very easy to use and less damaging and painful than waxing. I've used the traditional threading method for my upper lip for a while now and regrowth is minimal.

I just wondered whether anyone else has experience or advice about dental implants ?

I'm about to have a previously crowned tooth extracted to due an infection which refuses to clear up after root canal treatment has failed to cure the problem. I'm not too sure about how I will feel about having a 'fake' tooth. I have been so worried about this, oh and then there is the cost of the treatment. Does the cost vary between dentists?
